Montana Green Expo
MNLA holds the Montana Green Expo each year in early January. The Green Expo includes two components: a Trade Show and a Convention. The Trade Show includes 75+ exhibitors. Attendance is open to anyone who works in the horticulture industry, though MNLA members enjoy reduced registration.
The Convention includes 15-20 hours of educational seminars for which a registration fee is imposed. Nationally recognized experts are invited to address a wide range of topics covering both horticulture and business management interests. MNLA members receive a substantial discount on registration fees for all Convention seminars as well as discounts on booth space in the Trade Show.
According to Montana Green Expo attendees, the best part of the Expo is a feature that can scarcely be advertised and isn’t really even on the schedule. It’s the networking; getting together with old and new colleagues, sharing successes and failures. While we’ve tried to formalize it with a couple of events like the “Lunch & Learn", panel discussions, and “Welcome Reception,” much of the best networking happens in the hallways between seminars, in the aisles of the trade show, or during gatherings at the end of the day.
Awards Banquet and Silent Auction Fundraiser
One of the most anticipated events of the MT Green Expo, the Awards Banquet and Silent Auction, is a gathering of industry peers where we celebrate the work colleagues have done throughout the year during the Awards Show (check out past awards recipients here), awards student scholarships, and mingle with friends around the dinner table. Attendees also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction to raise funds for the MNLA Scholarship Program and Community Beautification Fund. This entertaining fundraiser is one of the ways the MNLA gives back, by supporting the families and communities of MNLA Members. The Awards Banquet is included in all full convention registrations, so come join us for a fun evening with friends!
Enter the Annual Award Contests
One of the most enjoyable portions of the annual MT Green Expo Banquet is the Awards Contest. MNLA members have the opportunity to submit the projects they have been working on around the state, and (we may be biased), but they do great work! Winners are announced at the Banquet, as well as in their local newspaper. This is a great opportunity to inspire your fellow MNLA members with the work you do, and also gain recognition in your local community. Details for each contest can be found below.
